We have an exciting opportunity for an Electrical Engineer in our Implants Electrical team in our R&D department. In this role you will help Cochlear to realise its mission by developing the electronics for a new generation of acoustic implant.
•Design low-power, high-reliability, high-quality electronic circuits for a medical implant
•Develop schematics and PCBs using Altium Designer
•Solve challenging technical problems with multiple constraints
•Use test equipment (standard and custom) to characterise and test electronic circuits
•Automate test methods to rapidly gather and process electronic test data
•Work in a lab environment, soldering small components and modifying PCAs.
•Write test plans and test reports
•Write design descriptions and contribute to risk management documentation
•Collaborate with research and development teams across the world

You Bring Your Skills and Experience
As we grow, we are looking for people with highly specialised skills who share our passion for changing the lives of our customers. To add value to Cochlear in this role you'll be able to demonstrate the following skills, experience and attributes:
• Minimum Bachelor Degree in Electronic Engineering
• Post-qualification design & development experience
•Good verbal and written communication skills, ideally in Swedish and English
•Good understanding of electronic circuits and components, both analogue and digital
•Experience with electrical CAD tools – schematic capture, simulation and PCB layout.
•Experience designing and debugging electronic designs.
•The ability to solve problems and collaborate to get work done that delivers benefits for Cochlear’s customers.
•A responsible attitude to working safely and building the safety culture.
•A commitment to lifelong learning and development.
