Communications Coordinator and DTP Specialist - 6 month maternity contract

This 6 month maternity position manages the production of collateral marketing material within the regional headquarters.  The successful candidate ensures an effective process with high-quality output by continually reviewing process design, supportive infrastructure as well as management of internal and external resources with the Communications Team Leader.  This person coordinates production projects (print material, audiovisuals) at a regional level, ensuring correctness of text, design and branding, print and distribution. Will be responsible for language versions and their dissemination.  Liaises with communications staff in Basel and the EMEA markets along with key internal and external resources.  

Key requirements: 

  • Desktop publishing skills, experience with handling print runs (ideal person: typograph, polygraph)
  • Required knowledge: Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Adobe Professional DC), MS Office

DTP:

  • Final layout checks and necessary corrections of print materials and digital documents in up to 31 languages
  • Creation of print files according to Cochlear requirements/standard
  • In-house updates and finalisations of print materials
  • Country adaptations of media materials (ads, posters, roll-ups): implementation of translated text, layout amendments, co-branding, formatting, creation of print files; in case of special formats that need a new layout; support by graphic design agency
  • Support countries with event materials (invitations, programmes)
  • Creation of print files according to Cochlear requirements/standard

Printing:

  • Placing print runs/reprints of promotional materials for EMEA region (except Baha, Carina) – orders from countries, CAG departments, for conferences, EMEA Marketing purposes, SOH
  • Print runs of event materials for congresses organised by EMEA Marketing

Document Management:

  • Document filing, version control, logbooks (if required) - in collaboration with team
  • Handover of final documents for Compass and Extranet (via Smartsheet form)

iProcurement:

  • Requisitions, receiving (Internal system)

iStock / imagery database:

  • Manage iStock account: purchase credits, assign credits to team members, purchase images
