About the role:

You are a seasoned marketing leader responsible for cause and peer-to-peer marketing programs. You will generate hearing health awareness programs that generate public action. You will play a key role in establishing hearing loss as a health issue; inclusive of prevention, monitoring and treating hearing loss with cochlear implants being the standard of care for severe to profound cases. You will define the corporate volunteer program in which we partner with our customer base to support key organizational goals. The Awareness and Volunteer program initiative is a strategic program for Cochlear and will provide high exposure to the Cochlear Americas leadership team as well as the global marketing and services leadership team.

In this role you will have the opportunity to make a significant contribution to Cochlear's successful history of innovation by applying your knowledge of brand marketing, cause marketing and/or loyalty marketing to mobilize volunteers to the cause.  You will know you have been successful in this role when you have supported the company’s goals by increasing consumer awareness and building a brand fan force.

Key Responsibilities

  • Cause marketing strategy and execution; develop strategies to expand the cause marketing plan for the region
  • Develop the strategy and plan to leverage our customers and key influencers (i.e. volunteers) on the cause marketing efforts.
  • Strategic planning and execution of Volunteer Engagement Programs, developing plans to define volunteer opportunities across regional organizational initiatives including DTC nurturing of prospects.
  • Develop plan to segment opportunities with recruitment, screening/matching, training and deployment of volunteers for defined opportunities.
  • Partner with global and regional colleagues to support the establishment of cochlear implants as the standard of care for treating severe to profound hearing loss.
  • Manage a team of 5 direct reports including defining KPIs, developing performance goals and monitoring with guidance and feedback. Ensure clarity of expectations for individuals and team. 

Key Requirements

To add value to Cochlear in this role you'll be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience in your application and at interview:

  • College degree required.
  • Must have a minimum of 10 years marketing experience.
  • Must have proven ability to develop comprehensive strategy for consumer awareness and community based/field marketing campaigns, preferably in the healthcare industry.
  • Demonstrated experience using interactive media to engage customers.
  • Experience with volunteer management – recruiting, training and deployment.
  • Demonstrated ability to leverage consumer insights and customer base in to marketing messages and programs; ideally leveraging volunteer engagement in marketing programs.
