Accountability 1:   Leading, developing and maintaining Japan Business Strategy

 

Ÿ  Facilitate planning and business reviews

Ÿ  Develop and implement processes in line with Cochlear best practice principles

Ÿ  Ensure delivery of agreed customer service levels driving demand for product and services

Ÿ  Initiate business process and productivity improvements driving cost reductions 

Ÿ  Develop and support human resource strategy

Ÿ  Champion regulatory and legal compliance, corporate governance and observance of the code of conduct

Ÿ  Business partner, liaison and audit practice

 

Accountability 2:   Accounting and Finance responsibilities

 

Ÿ  Planning, forecasting and budgeting

Ÿ  Daily, weekly, monthly, bi-annual and annual reporting requirements

Ÿ  Analysis and reporting of variations to trends facilitating early warning and transparency

Ÿ  Working capital management minimizing DSO, Inventory carrying and optimizing supplier creditor

Ÿ  Satisfy all local, group, audit and accounting standard reporting requirements

Ÿ  Ensuring development and observance of Travel and entertainment policy

 

Accountability 3:   General Office and infrastructure administration

 

Ÿ  Develop and maintain operating procedures

Ÿ  Asset protection and management

Ÿ  Business and insurance risk management

Ÿ  Contract review and administration including leases, licenses and other contracts

Ÿ  Liaison with external groups including suppliers and regional and corporate head office functions 

 

Accountability 4:   Team performance

 

Ÿ  Lead and influence team proactively

Ÿ  Champion employee development through leadership by example

Ÿ  Foster team approach and harmony within the Japan team

Ÿ  Reinforce and walk the talk – Cochlear values and best practice

Ÿ  Advocate bi-lingual and culturally appropriate communication

Key Incumbent requirements :

 

·        Business experience (sales, marketing, operation)

·        Completed CPA or equivalent accounting and / or finance and operations related qualifications

·        Experience in both Finance and Operations in a small to medium size company (Eg US$15-20m & 15-25 staff)

·        5-8 Years commercial experience including profit centre administration

·        Previous people management experience and successful track records

·        Knowledge of how to use software including Microsoft office, SFDC and Oracle

·        Experience in systems implementation an added advantage

·       Experience in foreign Company office-based environment.

·       Balanced English/Japanese language skills (written and oral).
