About the role
In order to help Cochlear continue to grow and service our customers, we are recruiting for a Director of Accounting in our Americas head office based in Lone Tree, CO.
To be successful in this role you’ll be a growth-oriented finance leader with demonstrated success in building and leading accounting teams. You’ll work collaboratively with all key teams across our region to ensure accurate and reliable financial processes, controls and records that drive business decisions and inform our investors as to the success of our business. This key leadership role is responsible for leading our accounting and financial control activities across a high growth business unit partnering closely with other finance and operational teams and key leaders across the business and globe.
- Provide oversight and direction for all accounting activities and controls
- Provide timely and accurate reporting, analytics, and financial support for daily & monthly strategic goals.
- Manage and participate in the monthly close process to ensure that all revenue and costs are recognized in accordance with US GAAP and IFRS where required and aligned with global standards
- Lead the efforts to improve financial reporting processes while working with the various internal departments
- Communicate with Senior Leaders on financial performance & operating results
To add value to Cochlear in this role you'll be able to meet and demonstrate the following knowledge, skills and abilities in your application and at interview:
- Active CPA license; Bachelor’s degree in accounting
- Public accounting experience (preferably Big 4); 10+ years of post-graduate accounting experience
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with an ability to establish credibility based on knowledge of technical accounting subject matter areas with internal management and external auditors
- Ability to build strong cross-functional relationships and work collaboratively with a variety of personalities

Regular Business Hours. Ability to effectively partner with our global finance counterparts to achieve consistent policies and accounting at times requires some flexibility in working hours.
In addition to the opportunity to develop your knowledge and grow professionally, we offer competitive wages and benefits. The Target Salary Range is $155,000-$165,000 per year as well as a bonus of 15% of base salary.
