About the role

As Cochlear continues to grow and service our customers, we are recruiting for a Sr. Financial Analyst in our Americas head office based in Lone Tree, CO. This role offers a hybrid work environment with a combination of in-office and work from home.

To be successful in this role you’ll be able use your analytical skills to help drive decision making. You’ll work collaboratively with various business units including sales/marketing/operations to model business case scenarios and help answer specific ad-hoc questions. Additionally, you will play a key role in providing the business with market intelligence using internal and external sources. This analytical role is responsible for executing complex modeling and analysis that support Cochlear’s vision of using data to drive decisions.

Key Responsibilities

Modeling - Help create dynamic financial and market models that are streamlined and meet business requirements;  Work with various stakeholders to verify assumptions and methodologies; Be able to distill complex inputs and outputs of models for the business; Use critical thinking skills to independently plan and execute analysis; Pivot between different types of models including business case ROI, price increase impacts, product launch impacts, market trends and customer lifetime value among others

Business performance management -  Develop or enhance reporting and analysis that helps management understand the health of the company; work closely with director of analytics and insights to identify key metrics for the business and best ways to track them; administer executive metric dashboards

Identify market opportunities and threats - Create standardized processes to evaluate market share and size information from our current 3rd party vendor; research new sources for market insights; work with local and global team members to asses the prevalence of hearing loss in North America by age group & geography including associated penetration rates

Data mining and analytics - Leverage technical skills to integrate findings from data mining into models; utilize available tools (tableau/data warehouse/other systems) to answer questions from the business and "tell the story" using the data


Key Requirements

To add value to Cochlear in this role you'll be able to meet and demonstrate the following knowledge, skills and abilities in your application and at interview:

  • Bachelors or Equivalent Work Experience                                                                                                  
  • 3+ years of experience in finance/economics/analytics or related field                                                               
  • Advanced understanding of Microsoft Excel and best practices in model building including avoidance of over engineering       
  • Ability to "tell the story," with data and proven track record of presenting findings to management       
  • Self-starter who is comfortable with ambiguity; ability to meet deadlines and re-prioritize as directed   
  • Strong business acumen with ability to quickly understand new operating models                                       
  • Experience researching and estimating market metrics and dynamics using internal/external sources           
  • Demonstrated proficiency using data visualization tools (preferably Tableau)                                                       
  • Specific examples of cross functional collaboration with business that led to business recommendations based on data

In addition to the opportunity to develop your knowledge and grow professionally, we offer competitive wages and benefits.  The Target Salary Range: $85,000 - $95,000 based upon experience as well as a bonus of 7.5% of base salary.
