The Role

Working in a dedicated team of tool makers, you will use your expertise and precision capability to develop tooling, moulds, jigs and fixtures used in the cochlear manufacturing system to produce high quality components used in our implant and sound processor units.

Based at our state of the art manufacturing facility in Macquarie University, you will collaborate and execute requests from the engineering teams in support of the development of new products in R & D phase as well as repairing / refurbishing existing specialised tooling, electrode dies, injection moulding components and surgical instruments.

In addition, you will constantly look for improvements to apply to the toolroom ensuring consistent compliance to GMP, quality standards and safe work practices.

About you

With exceptional communication skills both written and verbal, you are TAFE Qualified with a relevant trade certification, backed up with significant precision tooling experience gained in a highly regulated, technology driven manufacturing environment.

Experience working with a broad range of materials and knowledge of moulding processes and Sodick wire cutter equipment highly regarded.  

This role will see you support compliance and process documentation recordkeeping and master an extensive range of machinery as you contribute to the ongoing development of class leading implantable hearing solutions.
