About the role
As Cochlear continues to grow and service our customers, we are recruiting for a Financial Specialist I in our Americas head office based in Lone Tree, CO This role offers a hybrid work environment.

To be successful in this role you’ll work collaboratively with the Finance, Accounting, and Reimbursement collections teams. This Financial Specialist role is responsible for applying cash payments from customers and insurers to their accounts in our accounting system and assist in the preparation and filing of sales and use tax returns (monthly, quarterly, semi-annually, annually).
- Apply cash receipts from customers to their accounts in our general ledger
- Apply, update and correct cash received in accordance with the detail from our customers and insurance companies we work with
- Investigate and correct account discrepancies
- Ability to assess process and make recommendations for improving the process
- Utilize Excel to extract and organize transactional sales data in the preparation of sales and use tax returns.
- Assist Cochlear’s Tax Manager in the preparation and filing of sales and use tax returns, including preparing related journal entries and check requests.
- Utilize your reconciliation skills to ensure customers know exactly what they owe in a timely manner
To add value to Cochlear in this role you'll be able to meet and demonstrate the following knowledge, skills and abilities in your application and at interview:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting (or equivalent work experience)
- Sound understanding of GAAP and ability to follow established accounting guidelines
- Skilled with General Ledger systems and various software packages including Microsoft Excel.
- Detail oriented with strong work ethic

Flexible schedule between 8:00am-6:00pm, Monday through Friday. To best serve our customers, occasional overtime may be required.
