The Opportunity

There is a Sydney based ongoing full time opportunity for an Enterprise Architect - Integration to own the Cochlear IT integration architecture. The successful candidate will hold architectural authority for strategy, roadmaps and solutions for the integration of various applications and systems.  

The role will be responsible for the planning, coordination, development, and supervision of all activities related to the integration of software programs, applications, and third-party solutions to meet the business requirements of the organisation.

The integration needs are primarily focused on connecting on-premises and cloud-based commercial software applications, such as ERP, CRM, CMS and other systems. This individual is also responsible for developing and maintaining an application integration architecture blueprint for the organization.

Your responsibilities will include…

  • Develop EA standards, governance frameworks, and system integration standards
  • Develop and maintain the technology stack to include commercial or open source integration platforms
  • Provide expert advice to project teams on use of integration technology including integration best practices
  • Oversee critical steps within the Software Development Life Cycle components that impact enterprise wide development / architecture standards
  • Provide oversight in standards adherence through reviews of project work including detailed technical specifications for integration patterns
  • Work with project teams in definition of requirements for integration strategies of their projects into the Enterprise Architecture
  • Lead the integration architecture through all phases of the  delivery lifecycle.
  • Review Information Technology projects to ensure compliance with the integration architecture standards and principles
  • Ensure solutions comply with the principles and standards for the integration architecture domain
  • Participate as a member of the Architecture Review Board in regular governance meetings for Cochlear IT
  • Ensure integration architecture strategies, standards and patterns are governed effectively in line with our global delivery framework and architectural governance processes and policies

 About You:

  • Architecture certification such as TOGAF
  • Knowledge of enterprise architecture, systems architecture and  integration architecture standards, frameworks, and practices
  • Knowledge of common system integration methods and technologies including Web services, SOAP, JSON, XML Schema Definition (XSD), Extensible Markup Language (XML), Business process automation and orchestration tools and software
  • Expertise in solution design and development, vendor management, enterprise application support, in addition to strong business understanding and project management
  • Experience with the implementation of Continuous Integration practices and tooling to support automated build, delivery and regression test of commercial software
  • Proven experience in managing relationships with vendors/consultants, IT teams and internal stakeholders
  • Demonstrated experience in identifying, researching, evaluating, and recommending new and emerging technologies
  • Structured thinker with the ability to determine the logical steps required to meet the desired business outcomes
  • Project planning and specification skills, together with problem solving and analysis
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including the ability to explain technology solutions in business terms, establish rapport and persuade others.
