The Opportunity

Cochlear is looking for a full-time PLM Configuration Specialist to manage and ensure that the applicability of each product and manufacturing site is defined and maintained throughout the product lifecycle.

This role is based in Macquarie (Sydney) and is an excellent opportunity to further develop and specialise your knowledge of configuration management in a high technology, rapidly expanding medical device company.

Your responsibilities will include…

  • Develop procedures for creating and maintaining the product data record applicability for each product and manufacturing site.
  • Provide training on the process to the users of the PLM System.
  • Using your expert level knowledge in configuration management processes and work with all departments and regional representatives to support the ongoing use of the PLM system and the update of product configurations.
  • Create and manage the system level product structures and compatibility references in the PLM system.
  • Support and work with the various manufacturing sites to ensure that the As Manufactured configuration is accurate and aligned with the Enterprise Resource Management (ERP) system.
  • Provide expertise and support for all quality and regulatory audits on the PLM system and provide any configuration status accounting information requested.
  • Contribute to the development of the PLM system and all the configuration management processes to ensure the compliance of the system is maintained. 

 

About You

Minimum:

  • Strong facilitation and presentation skills, and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills to write clear and concise documents and emails.
  • Experience working with product development configuration.
  • Expertise in configuration baseline management, product applicability and change management.
  • Expert level knowledge on the configuration management functions, principles, standards, and requirements.
  • Computer literacy (e.g., Microsoft Applications)

 

 

 

 

 

Ideal:

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively at different levels of the organisation and across functional disciplines
  • Experience with the Windchill PLM tool
  • University Degree

This is a high visibility role as you will work with many system users across diverse functions such as Engineering, Manufacturing, Repair, Logistics, Procurement, Clinical and Marketing. You will develop experience in a specialised discipline that is required by all product development companies, and gain recognition for establishing standards and implementing practices.
