The opportunity

The Procurement Buyer is responsible for the execution of procurement processes, delivering effective global supply outcomes within their allocated category.

Your responsibilities will include…

  • Effectively partner with both internal and external stakeholders and take overall accountability for transactional procurement activities for the assigned product portfolio, categories, and suppliers.
  • Provide operational procurement support to Procurement Specialists and Managers to enable them to effectively manage key strategic categories and suppliers.
  • Seek and assist to develop, implement and execute procurement processes and strategies to optimise and continuously improve the performance of the Procurement function.
  • Assist in identifying and implementing effective risk management strategies to maintain continuity of supply for the assigned product portfolio, categories, and suppliers.
  • Assist in developing and implementing robust commercial arrangements whilst maintaining strong relationships with key suppliers and internal stakeholders.

About you:

  • Sound ERP system knowledge (SAP and Oracle preferred)
  • A strong written and verbal communicator, negotiator, and influencer
  • Demonstrated experience in procurement, building and maintaining commercial relationships, and influencing internal stakeholders at all levels.
  • Astute in the management and operation of suppliers with the ability to assess the capability of suppliers and commercial proposals
  • Strong attention to detail, prioritisation, and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced production environment

  • Exposure to quality and regulatory systems for medical device companies.
  • Knowledge of Lean methodologies or other continuous improvement tools and thinking.
  • Knowledge of and exposure to high-tech manufacturing or engineering-focused manufacturing environments.
  • Able to build and sustain positive, customer-focused, and professional stakeholder relationships at all levels
  • Effective change management skills
