Manager – Group Accounting and Reporting

 

As the Manager – Group Accounting and Reporting you will report to the Director Group Accounting and Reporting and act as a key point of contact for finance teams across the group. The role is highly visible working closely with internal stakeholders at all levels across the business and external advisors, including local and overseas stakeholders.

This role requires someone with strong knowledge of AASB Accounting standards with previous ASX environment experience in order to thrive. The role includes responsibilities for the accounting of the parent entity, Cochlear Limited and the preparation of Financial Statements for the consolidated group.

The Opportunity

Cochlear has an opportunity for a Manager – Group Accounting and Reporting based in our Macquarie office.

Responsibilities include:

  • Overall responsibility for the preparation of half-yearly consolidated financial statements, including co-ordinating submissions from various internal stakeholders, including Group Tax and Group Treasury, who are responsible for notes within the financial statements.
  • Key point of contact, both internally for key stakeholders as well externally for the auditors, for the financial statement preparation and month-end close processes. 
  • Overall responsibility for intragroup recharges between regions and head-office, including co-ordination with regional finance teams.
  • Undertake general accounting activities as directed by the Director Group Accounting and Reporting.
  • Continuous improvement and streamlining of processes and systems to promote improved control and reporting efficiency.

About You. As we grow our operations, we are looking for people who share our passion for delivering quality hearing solutions to our customers. To add value to Cochlear in this role, you'll be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience: 

Essential

  • Qualified CPA or CA with at least 5 years post qualification experience with strong technical accounting interest knowledge and background
  • Strong IFRS experience in writing policy documents for accounting standards and technical papers
  • Financial Reporting experience preferably in a multinational environmental either in a head office or in a subsidiary business 
  • Proven problem solver and solution orientation required to work through consolidation accounting and reporting
  • Strong attention to detail

Ideal:

  • Exposure to multicurrency consolidations using appropriate consolidation tools
  • Experience working with a large number of stakeholders concurrently
  • Listed company reporting
  • Oracle and Hyperion ERP and reporting platforms
