Cochlear Asia-Pacific, the fastest growing division of Cochlear Ltd, has a direct market presence in Japan, Korea, China, India, SE Asia and Australia & New Zealand. Cochlear conducts most of its leading research, development and manufacturing of cochlear implants in the Asia Pacific region with state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities in Australia and repair facilities in Malaysia.
The Opportunity
As a Product Manager – Implants you will make a significant contribution to Cochlear Implant (CI) marketing product plans by managing the product lifecycle from launch to retirement through collaboration with multiple stakeholders, including APAC local markets, global marketing teams, regulatory, supply chain, clinical and professional engagement.
Key responsibilities include a robust understanding of key insights driving brand and product choice with professional customers across key markets in the APAC region, and development of a regional implants plan to deliver market share opportunities for growth. This portfolio will require multiple product launches across markets in the APAC region including Australia & New Zealand (ANZ), Japan, Korea, India, China and Asia Growth Markets.
The Product Manager – Implants, works in collaboration with Global Marketing providing valuable insights and input to represent APAC and influence global product development and strategy. This role will be required to lead and partner with cross-functional teams, build strong relationships and manage product launches from strategy through to execution.
Your responsibilities will include…
- Commercialisation of New Products, launch new technology to markets in Asia Pacific through strategic identification of key target markets, market opportunity and commercial objectives. Develop regional launch plans comprising of product positioning, value proposition, commercial goals and launch activation plans across multiple channels in close collaboration with global and local marketing stakeholders. Partner with local country Marketing/Product Managers, with a focus on lead markets of China, India, Japan, Korea and Australia & New Zealand (ANZ), to develop launch execution plans to drive growth or gain market share
- Product Management and Product Marketing, manage the product lifecycle for the implants portfolio by taking a lead role in collaborating with cross-functional teams for demand forecasting, product announcements and/or communications, product end-of-sale timelines and product configurations. Become a product champion with internal and external audiences, including candidates, recipients and professional partners, with a strong focus on CI surgeons
- Team Role – Cochlear Portfolio, collaborate with team members to share synergies across the Cochlear portfolio and to ensure continuity of marketing activities and support local marketing teams in implementing marketing plans for the portfolio

Minimum:
- Graduate qualifications in marketing, business, engineering or science
- Product management/marketing experience in implantable devices
- Medical devices/healthcare industry experience
- Demonstrated experience in leading cross-functional project teams
- Excellent verbal, interpersonal and relationship-building skills
- Achievement oriented, outstanding follow-through, self-starting attitude
- Time management and project management skills to deliver results
Ideal:
MBA or equivalent and Regional experience, either in Asia Pacific or a multi-country role is highly beneficial
